The national parks of the Veluwe

There are two different national parks within the unofficial limits of the Veluwe. The Veluwezoom park is one of them. This park covers 5000 hectares and is managed by Natuurmonumenten. The Veluwezoom is the first parkland within the Netherlands. The rolling landscape of dams, created during the penultimate geological period, characterises the realm. You get an honest idea of this from the Posbank, a good looking viewpoint within the park. one among the dam walls is Signaal Imbosch, with almost 110 meters the best point within the Veluwe and in Gelderland. Large and little game are found within the parkland, but you'll also encounter many species of birds and reptiles. To keep the park accessible and open, large grazers are used, like Scottish highlanders and Icelandic ponies. Do you not know where to begin your discovery tour through the Veluwezoom? Then visit the visitor center in Rheden. Various hiking, cycling, riding, and mountain biking trails also start from there.

The second parkland on the Veluwe is the Hoge Veluwe, a true highlight of Dutch nature for outdoor enthusiasts. The park is hardly accessible for cars and other motorised faults, but you'll walk for miles, ride a horse or ride a segway through constantly different landscapes, with or without guidance. Cycling is additionally fully possible, for instance on the "white bicycles" that you just can use free within the park boundaries. Want to catch your breath in between? Then visit the famous Kröller-Müller Museum, Nature Museum Museonder, or Jachthuis Sint-Hubertus. A visit to 1 of the wildlife observation points is additionally possible. Maybe you notice a deer, red deer, or wild boar!

Not located among the 2 national parks, but definitely worth mentioning is Kroondomein Het Loo. With over 10,000 hectares, this domain is the largest estate within the Netherlands. The estate extends northwest of the town of Apeldoorn. The bulk of the landscape, around 80%, consists of forests. Additionally, you'll also find some moors and farmland. 50 hectares of the estate within the Veluwe concern buildings and therefore the associated gardens. An example is Paleis Het Loo. This former royal palace and its palace gardens are receptive to the general public.

Beauty throughout the entire year

The Netherlands is located in a maritime temperate climate. It is cool in summer, with occasional rains. The daytime temperature is kept at around 20°С. Snow in winter is rare. Most often it is represented by snow grains. The air temperature at this time rarely drops below zero, so the precipitation immediately melts. The water in the ports of the Netherlands does not freeze, this allows the country to receive ships all year round. January temperature is between 1°С and 4°С. But sometimes there are severe winters when the water in the canals freezes.

The most comfortable conditions for a holiday are from mid-June to mid-September. Fans of excursion tourism should visit the Netherlands in the days from May to September, and this time is warm and relatively dry weather.
