There you have a view over the orchard with behind it a protected nature reserve along the Wolder Aa. You have a large garden with its own orchard and playground. Part of the garden is adjacent to the Wolder Aa. There is a bicycle shed you can use. The cottage consists of a sitting room with open kitchen, a bedroom with mezzanine and a shower and toilet. In front of the cottage is a large wooden deck terrace, from where you have a beautiful view over the nature reserve, the Ruiner Aa and in the evening the setting sun. There is free access to WiFi. Smoking is not allowed in the cottage.
Nature and surroundings
This nature house is located in the outskirts of Ruinen in the Drenthe coulisse landscape in the middle of the protected stream valley of the Wolder Aa. It is a ten-minute walk from the route of the Jacobspad and the Drenthepad and in the midst of several bicycle junctions. You can relax in the garden of the cottage and on the banks of the Wolder Aa. You step right out of the cottage into nature! At night it is still quiet and dark here and on cloudless nights you can see the beautiful starry sky! The nature house is located between the Dwingelderveld and Ruinen Forestry and is therefore the ideal base for beautiful cycling or walking tours to these nature reserves. Along the way you pass several villages with authentic Drenthe farms. At five kilometers lies National Park Het Dwingelderveld with heathlands, forests, sand drifts and fens. The park contains visitor centers, bird-watching huts and marked trails. The beautiful forestry Ruinen is six kilometers away. A walk here is well worthwhile: you walk mainly on unpaved paths through pine forests, deciduous forests, heaths and along small fens and sand drifts. Near Havelte, 11 kilometers from the nature house, is a beautiful 18-hole golf course. The village of Ruinen with a supermarket and many other amenities is two kilometers away.
