Sleeping in a plaggenhut, we do it for fun these days. But it used to be different here. A plaggenhut was inhabited by the poorest workers in the late 19th century. It looks like a roof on the ground. Nowadays we call it: super cozy! The plaggenhut is located in our large atmospheric garden. Enjoy a glass of wine by a crackling fire and a homemade stew from the witches' kettle. In the evening, crawl into the box bed. Your private bathroom is within walking distance. Since it's a bit like camping , in the colder months keep in mind to bring warm clothes. For relaxation, it is possible to book the wood-fired hot tub and/or sauna. These are then available to you privately for part of the day. You can also rent our Finnish grill hut. These facilities can be booked by all our guests, based on availability. Please note: from 17-08 until 01-09 2024 we do not serve breakfast.
Nature and surroundings
The nature house is located in the beautiful Drenthe village of Roswinkel. Here you can still experience the silence, see the farmers working the land, see the many pheasants, egrets and swallows fluttering around and if you are lucky meet a deer. The village has only 805 inhabitants. Roswinkel is located a few kilometers from Germany and the province of Groningen. The beautiful forests of Emmen with their dolmens, but also the beautiful forests of Ter Apel, Sellingen and the nature reserve Bargerveen provide a beautiful and varied cycling and walking landscape. Besides the beautiful nature there is also much to experience for young and old in terms of culture, excursions, Wildlands Adventure Zoo in Emmen, amusement parks, shopping, nightlife and more. In short, this environment is a great base for exploring Drenthe, Groningen and Germany.
