The front part of this partially thatched farmhouse has been realized into a two-story nature house. On the ground floor are the hall, the toilet, the living room with a double bed box and the living kitchen. On the second floor you will find a bathroom with toilet and a large bedroom. The accommodation has its own entrance and four terraces. The landlords are real nature and garden lovers. Around the nature house you will therefore find many borders, a large vegetable garden, an orchard with standard fruit and a flowery field with walking path. In 2012 Dwingeloo was proclaimed the Greenest Village in Europe partly thanks to this flower-filled field! In 2018, the flowery field will be changed into a flowery meadow. In 2015, the garden was voted the most bee-friendly garden in Drenthe. The varied garden is a walhalla for bees, butterflies and insects. In the barn is a lockable bike shed. The car can be parked next to the nature house. Books and games are available. Upon request, the landlord will take you out for a free deer excursion in the Dwingelerveld! Arrival at this nature house is from 3:00 pm and departure at 10:30 am.
Nature and surroundings
The nature house is located just outside the village of Eemster; an oasis of peace with many beautiful, old farms. Quite a few artists have a studio in Eemster. This quiet village is four kilometers from Dwingeloo. It is located exactly between the two landscape parks of the Dwingelerveld and the Drents-Friese Woud. It is said that Dwingeloo has the most beautiful brink in Drenthe. On the brink you will find beautiful, old trees, monumental farms, stores, terraces and restaurants. The nature house is also on a cycling route. Dwingeloo offers something for everyone. Every Tuesday there is a modest market on the brink in Dwingeloo. There is also a heated outdoor swimming pool, the radio observatory and galleries. The larger towns in Drenthe have theaters, but many villages also have open-air theaters. Diever is known for its Shakespeare performances. There is plenty of information material of the area (cycling routes, hiking routes, car routes).
