Spending the night in a yurt is a special experience. Thick layers of wool felt provide insulation, and two layers of sturdy impregnated cotton and a rain cloth keep out rain and wind. The surface area is 35m2, the ridge height is three meters. The nature house is furnished as living and sleeping quarters. The yurt has garden doors with a beautiful view of the forest. You heat the yurt using the wood stove. There is firewood available, if you run out you can order it from us. Next to the yurt is a log cabin with sanitary facilities and a kitchenette (this is only for use of the yurt guests). The log cabin and the yurt have electric floor heating, this keeps out the worst cold. To get the yurt to room temperature in winter, you need to fire up the wood stove.
Nature and surroundings
The yurt is located directly on the National Park Dwingelderveld, a beautiful Drenthe nature reserve (37 km2 ) with the famous vast Dwingeloose heath. Beautiful nature for walking, cycling or horseback riding. The National Park Dwingelderveld is a protected Natura 2000 area. The neighboring village of Dwingeloo with its picturesque Brink has plenty of opportunities for eating out, shopping or an ice cream. Nine kilometers from the Bed & Stee you will find the refreshing recreational lake: Het Blauwe Meer. Here you can enjoy swimming in natural water. The Blue Lake is managed by Natuurmonumenten. In the summer season there is a paid beach with Kiosk for French fries and ice cream. There is also an unpaid area where dogs are also allowed. The blue lake is beautifully situated in the middle of free nature.
