The cozy nature house is located on the edge of the National Park: "The Drents Friese Wold". It is located on a dead end paved road. The area is 50 square meters on a piece of land of about 1000 square meters and therefore assured of sufficient privacy. Near the nature house are plenty of opportunities for hours of hiking via marked routes and cycling via junction routes. Nearby is even a spicy mountain bike route built.Through the hallway you enter the living area with a sitting area with fireplace, a spacious table for eating and games such as checkers and shuffleboard. There is also a bar overlooking the kitchen area. Here there is a 4 burner gas stove, a microwave oven and plenty of cupboard space for provisions. Also in the room is a television with digital reception, a stereo system and a CD/DVD player. For lovers of reading there is a well-stocked book rack with various genres of literature.

Diever has over 2000 inhabitants and has belonged to the municipality of Westerveld since 1998. In the area where the cottage is now located, people already lived 6000 years ago. Late Stone Age farmers built a dolmen here close to a hunebed, which is still there. The village of Diever was founded in the early Middle Ages. The name Diever was first mentioned in 1181. People then speak of the village Devere or Deveren, which actually means depth or lowness. In the Middle Ages Diever was the main town of the Dieverdingspel*, which covered the entire area of Southwest Drenthe. It covers over 6000 hectares of forest, heathland, shifting sands and stream valley grasslands. The Drents-Friese Wold belongs to the most beautiful and important nature reserves of Europe and is therefore designated as Natura2000 area.
