Within walking distance of the cozy village and the National Park the Drents-Friese Wold. The perfect place for undisturbed enjoyment of the beautiful surroundings! Ideal for making beautiful cycling or walking tours, or just to completely unwind. Only bed linen is provided, the rest you must bring your own.
Nature and surroundings
At the edge of the Drents-Friese Wold lies Diever. This esdorp is known as the village of Shakespeare. Since the year 1946, plays by this English writer have been performed here. The performances take place in a special open-air theater, the Shakespeare Theatre. This theater alone is worth a visit, but Diever has much more...Diever is located in the west of Drenthe. The village was founded in the early Middle Ages. However, the area has been inhabited much longer; you can see that at Hunebed D52. That was built more than 5,000 years ago. There are more places of interest in Diever, both in and outside the village. Diever is also an attraction for nature lovers. The Drents-Friese Wold is a National Park: with its 6,000 hectares, it is the second largest contiguous forest and heath area in the Netherlands after the Veluwe. Here you can relax, cycle endlessly and walk. And afterwards, enjoy one of the cozy terraces in Diever.
