There are 2 supermarkets, a bakery, greengrocer, traditional butcher, clothing stores, gift shop and several snack bars/restaurants. The wooded area and many cycling and walking routes will show you the most beautiful places in Drenthe. A fishing pond and recreation area Schoonhoven is within walking distance (3 km.). Hoogeveen, Emmen (Wildlands) and Coevorden are the larger towns nearby, where you can enjoy shopping or a terrace. A visit across the border to Germany is definitely worthwhile, One of the neighboring villages is Nieuwlande "The village that was silent" and became known for its many people in hiding during the war and the resistance hero Johannes Post. More about this can be found in the museum in the village. Bicycles can be rented in the village if necessary. These can be picked up and brought. Enjoy the peace, space and beautiful surroundings by bike or motorcycle.
