In a valley on Spain's north coast, where pilgrims seek and tourists find, is the quiet village of Oia. Just outside the village center, you stumble upon a spacious house with a flourishing vegetable garden and five bedrooms. From the upstairs terrace sounds the chatter and laughter of young girls. In the garden a child swings, and soft music sounds from the open windows. Our house, a converted and expanded local farmhouse of about 200 years, contains 3 floors of living space, the lower and upper of which are rented out. The middle one is private and contains our bedrooms. Upstairs there are 5 bedrooms with double beds. Two bathrooms, one with a bathtub overlooking the mountains. There is a shared dining kitchen and TV room. Around the upper floor is a balustrade that gives 3 of the 5 bedrooms patio doors with views over the valley. There is also a large roof terrace with chairs, tables and sitting area.

Our house is a half-hour drive from the Portuguese border and 15 minutes from the ocean. Near our house there are several hiking trails through the mountains. And a 40-minute walk from our house takes you to a beautiful stream with waterfalls where you can swim, called the Poza do Arco. With a 15 minute drive you have a view over Baiona and the ocean with its Cies Islands in the distance, between the wild horses and cows at 500 meters altitude. The environment is green with varied vegetation from forest to heathland, rostige mountains and wide sandy beaches.
