Nature house in Elim

Free in nature, away from traffic and other city noises with beautiful views of forest and grassland, at BoerdeHeij you will experience the ultimate relaxing outdoor feeling. Luxury private camping, but not on a campsite but with all facilities for yourself. The bell-tent with its own (heated) mobile homes (new in 2025!) are on the edge of our yard in a natural, green environment. In our spacious bell-tent you will find a comfortable double bed of 160 x 200 cm, made up of two extra thick mattresses (including electric blankets). Enjoy the beautiful view: from your bed you can see hares, deer, and birds of prey crossing the grassland on their way to the woods.You can choose how you want to cook: in the mobile homes on a 3-burner gas stove or outside, where you can cook adventurously on a self-stoked wood fire in the firebowl. Wood is available and extra wood can be bought from us. In less weather, the mobile homes offer a cozy and heated place to eat and relax.

Our place is located in Elim in southern Drenthe between Hoogeveen and Coevorden. Our lot is 300 meters from the public road and is adjacent to woods and meadows where you can have a nice walk around. We have created a paddock paradise for our 3 horses, complete with hills, nibble bushes and waterhole. There is also a large vegetable garden whose harvest we are happy to share with you. We try to house and garden our horses in such a natural way. So no tightly landscaped borders or neat stables here. Besides our 3 horses live here 2 cats and Guus our pot-bellied pig. You are also bound to meet the neighbors' chickens and the 2 peacocks that roam freely here. The immediate vicinity consists of many meadows and bushes and fifteen minutes walk from the larger forest and recreation area of Plan Schoonhoven. Here you can walk various routes and in fine weather take a refreshing dip in the swimming pool. The area is perfect for hiking, cycling and other excursions.
