On the small-scale Park Dassenburcht at Spier you will find our "Boshuis De Dollenburcht". This is a gas-free Finnish recreation bungalow, in the midst of nature, whose construction was completed in 2021. Our Boshuis is for anyone who enjoys nature and comfort. The house has a spacious veranda, which is a great place to enjoy a drink in the evenings. The Forest House itself "breathes" the atmosphere of the outdoors, with appropriate art and bedrooms christened the "Foxes' Den," "Owls' Nest" and "Crows' Nest" (sleeping loft). In the Owls Nest, an electric box spring (180x200) guarantees a good sleep, and the beds in the other sleeping quarters are also adjustable. The house is attractively but modernly furnished, with a pellet stove, modern television, sound bar, recliner, nespresso and SMEG refrigerator. The Boshuis has everything you need for a comfortable stay, and if you get tired of the forest for a while, you will have plenty of sun on the spacious terrace. The garden is fenced and bath and kitchen linen is included.
Nature and surroundings
The biggest attraction in the area is nature. You step from the porch into the nature reserve Terhorsterzand, which in turn is in an open connection with the National Park the Dwingelderveld. The Dwingelderveld was recently voted the "quietest place in the Netherlands". You will find heathland, fens, juniper and elderflower, of which we 'brew' our own syrup for our guests - while stocks last. In the Dwingelderveld you can wander around for hours, on foot or by bike, and otherwise the Drents Friese Woud and the Holtingerveld are within reach. While the Terhorsterzand is known for its badgers and tawny owls, in the Dwingelderveld the wolf has even been spotted. For those who have had enough of nature, the brink villages and dolmens in the area are a sight to behold, and Meppel in particular lends itself well to shopping.
