Next to our home on the outskirts of Gasselte is this guest cottage. The cottage consists of a living room, bathroom (shower and toilet), kitchenette and a bedroom. There is no separate sink, brush your teeth in the kitchenette. Via the stairs you reach the upper floor where the bedroom is located. On one side of the staircase is a double bed with two mattresses of 90x200 and on the other side of the staircase is a double bed of 140x200. The cottage is heated by central heating and downstairs with underfloor heating. For hot summer days there is air conditioning. There is a regular (filter) coffee maker, a Senseo, kettle, microwave/oven and electric grill plate available. There is also a double (induction) hob to heat up something or prepare a simple meal. You have the entire guest house (with private entrance) at your disposal. The private garden is separately fenced, so our lovely dogs won't bother you.

This Nature House is quietly located at the end of a cul-de-sac, on the former Assen-Stadskanaal railroad line. The railroad line served until 1948, but eventually the station and the railroad line were demolished. In the landscape you can still clearly see where the railroad used to run; this is now a footpath. Our house was part of the station at the time and served as a foreman's house. This Nature House is located directly on several hiking trails, such as the Drenthe Trail, Hondsrug Trail/Hünenweg and the Hamerlanden Trail. Nature reserves and extensive forests are just around the corner, such as Drouwenerzand and National Park Drentsche Aa. Just 3 km away are the natural lakes the Gasselterveld and 't Nije Hemelriek where you can swim. In this nature house you can enjoy the tranquility of Drenthe, but you are also near the tourist villages of Borger and Gieten, with their terraces, restaurants and stores.
