This 2-4 person nature house (75m2) is IN national park Dwingelderveld, one of the most beautiful, quiet and darkest areas in the Netherlands. In the 1300m2 private garden you can see squirrels, woodpeckers, hedgehogs and almost every morning traces of badgers. The cottage was thoroughly refurbished in 2023, a now has a new open kitchen with Nespresso, oven and dishwasher and a spacious living room with two lazy leather sofas and a cozy oak dining table (six-person). There is also a workspace (or play area) in a separate room, and a utility room with a washing machine, which also functions as an entrance hall/cloghouse after walks. The master bedroom has a large double bed, the second bedroom with bunk beds (90x200). The cottage has plenty of closet space, fiber optic internet and (smart) TV with ESPN for the enthusiast, a CV (2023), no bath, but a good shower. House rules: no groups, parties and no smoking. Nature rules: no radio outside, no going into the woods after dusk.
Nature and surroundings
The cottage is in the nature reserve itself! The National Park (NP) Dwingelderveld is one of the largest wet moors in Europe, with forests, vast heaths, fens and marshes. Far away from highways, parking lots and bungalow parks, this is also the quietest side of the Dwingelderveld, from where you can take day-long nature walks. Brinkdorpjes Dwingeloo and Ruinen are a 10-minute drive away, with stores, eateries and (outdoor) swimming pools. Just a 15-minute walk away is Ansen's only, very cozy eatery Tante Ans. The wooded garden is large and sheltered, including a six-seater dining table with comfortable chairs, with good deck chairs for summer, and with a trampoline, a swing and enough space for the children to play soccer. You can park on private property, the last 250m are unpaved but passable.
