This nature house is located in the back house of a thatched farmhouse built in 1874. The house is for rent during midweek. It is particularly suitable for 2 couples; each has a bedroom with a fine bed and a private bathroom. One of the bathrooms has an extra wide walk-in shower and sink, making the room very wheelchair accessible. A spacious south-facing terrace allows you to enjoy the spring sun early in the year. The house exudes an atmosphere of conviviality. The spacious dining area invites you to enjoy a delicious meal, a good conversation or to play a game. The living room is cozily furnished, so you will soon feel at home. Bicycles can be stored in the shed, where they can also be recharged if necessary. Since the back house is adjacent to a cozy mini-camping site, you quickly get the feeling of being on vacation. It is even possible to join the weekly soup supper on Saturday evening during the camping season.
Nature and surroundings
The vacation home is beautifully situated on a quiet hamlet between National Park Dwingelderveld on the one hand and forestry Ruinen on the other. Cycling and hiking nodes are located in front of the door. The Rietepad path takes you for a walk, across the farmlands within 2 km in the cozy village of Ruinen with cozy restaurants, cafes, a supermarket, bakery, household and gift store and a so-called vershuus. Directly from the house there are many beautiful cycling and walking routes to follow. Forest, heath, meadows and water....... it's all there! The visitor center and the sheepfold of Ruinen are definitely worth a visit. The little owl, green woodpecker, and even the bald eagle can be observed as you cycle across the vast Dwingelderveld towards the radio telescope of Dwingeloo. You will experience that peace is normal here.
