Flora
Skåne, a narrow strip along the western coast, is one of the dominant tree species. Some common Examples are Anemone, Corydalis. Most of Northern Sweden below the mountains is covered by conifer forests, and in the southern part of the river Dalälven, there are scattered trees like oaks (Quercus robur). Deciduous trees are rarer, but birches and aspen may be abundant in early stages, such as after a fire or in recently clear-cut areas. There are four native conifers in Northern Sweden, including Norway spruce, Scots pine, and form forests in pure or mixed stands. Spruce readily grows wetter and pine notably drier, but there are numerous dwarfed pines in the Northern region in bogs. In the pine forest, lingonberries (Vaccinium Vitis-idaea), heather (Calluna vulgaris), and Cladonia lichens are common. Sometimes fire spreads quickly through dense bushes and destroys a lot of species of spruce and pine.
