Lisbon villas
Lisbon is the capital of Portugal and a recognized global city due to its economic and commercial significance. The city port is one of the largest container ports in Europe and very important for overseas trade on the Atlantic Ocean. The city of Lisbon is located at the mouth of river Tagus, thus enjoying the advantages of a river flowing through the metropolitan area. Villas in Lisbon come with spectacular views and quiet surroundings away from the city. They are fully furnished in a typical design for a Portuguese home, in order for you to fully relax and enjoy yourself in the countryside. Book one of the villas offered on our website and enjoy one unforgettable holiday experience in Portugal.
Discover Lisbon’s nature
In the heart of this city the Monsanto Park and protected area gives visitors an opportunity to relax and take a walk in this green paradise. This forest park area was created during a reforestation program in Lisbon, thus putting the start to an interesting mix of ecosystems. Today, the park is a preferred location for a quick escape from the busy Lisbon streets.
Another protected area nearby the city center is the Tagus Estuary Natural Reserve. The estuary is the largest in Europe, while its wetland is the largest in Portugal; it is home to numerous water species and especially to birds. This wetland is a popular resting spot for migrating birds on their way from/to Africa. One of the most interesting periods for a visit to the Tagus Estuary is during autumn when flamingoes rest here on their way to the African continent.
A short drive from Lisbon, located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, the Arriba Fossil da Costa de Caparica protected area welcomes visitors from all over the world. This protected area includes a series of fossil cliffs from about 10 million years ago. This area has an interesting history which local guides will be more than happy to share. If you have the opportunity, try to visit at dusk as this is the best time to view the rock formations in their full glory. The golden rays of the sun reflect on and emphasize the natural beauty of this protected area.
Activities
Portugal is an amazing place for sunbathing enthusiasts. A surprising diversity is available – for families, group-friendly, watersports-appropriate and dog-friendly beaches. Praia de Carcavelos and Costa da Caparica are among our favorites, although in practice all coastal locations provide for a great day near the Atlantic.
Horseback riding is another popular activity for the territories of Portugal. There are many options for a lesson on the beach or in the mountains, where they take you through stunning areas. If you decide to visit the port of Lisbon, consider dolphin watching. There are a few boat tours with a regular schedule. Moreover, snorkeling and scuba diving are also a great way to discover another part of this area – underwater life. For families with children, or even for grownups, the Ocean Aquarium in Lisbon is the perfect place to learn more about marine life, all while hiding from the hot Portuguese sun.
