Valencia weekend break
How about a quick trip to Spain? The third largest city in the country will gladly welcome you to its province for a weekend break inside its city walls. We’re talking about Valencia, which will charm you with its character, magnificent architecture and a captivating mixture between the past and today’s modernism. Spain is a wonderful destination considering its rich history, mixed culture and wonderful nature. Pack your bags and head to Valencia for some weekend fun!
We offer various types of accommodation in Valencia including nature houses such as bungalows, traditional fincas and beautiful villas. Choose your surroundings according to your own preferences – a suburban and quieter neighborhood for a relaxing break, a place in the heart of the city for a weekend fiesta, or a house deep into nature – it is up to you. Whatever you choose, the hosts will do the impossible to make you feel comfortable and taken care of! The Spanish spirit will definitely seize you!
The nature of this wild city
With 22 national parks in the area, one weekend will not be nearly enough. This is why we have carefully picked only the best suggestions according to our team! The natural landscape of Valencia includes breathtaking mountains and wonderful coastal areas. Undoubtedly, for us, Albufera is a must-visit on a weekend break to Valencia! This national park is close to the city, while still providing the much-needed peace and quiet from the modern world. In the park, you can enjoy the beautiful golden beaches, surrounded by dense forests and rice fields. The sunsets in Albufeira are spectacular, especially if you are watching them from the water. The freshwater lagoon in the park is one of the highlights!
Sot de Chera is another protected area in the province. This nature park is famous for three things – culture, nature and wildlife. On the park premises, you will come across beautiful canyons, magnificent gorges and numerous springs. Don’t miss out on the opportunity and check out Geopark Chera – a paradise for geologists and an area filled with stunning waterfalls. La Garita and La Castellana are definitely worth the walk! The local population inhabits picturesque villages in the park area, which are famous for their exquisite cuisine!
Activities
If you find yourself in the Sot de Chera area, you can go hiking. You can choose either the easier route to La Hoz ravine, or the harder ones leading to Rope and Nieves peaks. In the ravine La Hoz you might come across a few churches. Due to these churches, the trail leading through the ravine is considered an act of pilgrimage.
Bike tours are also a popular choice by visitors – there is even a two-day bike tour with a guide, on which you will definitely learn anything possible regarding the natural reserve area.
If you dream about a day at the beach, minus the crowds at the weekend, head to Patacona Beach. It is less popular; the palm trees surround the beach and create a unique atmosphere – romantic and wild.
