This is also the case with the Caucasus forests and the cork oak forests of the Western Mediterranean. There are a large number of nature reserves and national parks throughout Europe, where the flora and fauna of this continent are preserved.

They are white with a yellow center, but there is also a subspecies that is purple with a yellow center.

The fauna of the European area, created as a result of the Quaternary climatic changes, belongs to the Palearctic zoogeographic land and varies depending on the climatic and plant zones. The area of southern Europe is inhabited, among others, by: fallow deer, mouflon(originally Sardinia and Corsica), ichneumon and civet(Spain), jackal(Balkan Peninsula), macaque - the only monkey in Europe(Gibraltar), and also from birds from the south, flamingos and pelicans; numerous reptiles(e.g. geckos). The fauna of the mountains of Europe, which varies between the different levels, is rich in typical mountain species, such as chamois, ibex, marmot, golden eagle, brick wall, salamanders. Due to the development of huge areas of Europe and a significant reduction in forest cover, some species have become extinct(e.g. aurochs), others have survived only in hard-to-reach areas; some have adapted to the conditions created by man, e.g. in an urbanized environment: sparrow, nestling, starling, hamlet, and even gained better development opportunities in them, e.g. numerous rodent and insect pests.
